Content Policy

Applies to TillVid, business minisites, and all content on Till Africa · Last updated: 24 March 2026

Our standard is simple: Till Africa is a commerce platform for real, legitimate African businesses. Everything on this platform must represent genuine goods and services offered honestly.

1. What this policy covers

This policy applies to all content published on Till Africa — including TillVid posts (photos and videos), business minisite profiles, product listings, service descriptions, customer reviews, and any content that references or links to Till Africa from external platforms.

By posting content on Till Africa, you confirm that you have the right to publish it and that it complies with this policy and all applicable Ugandan law.

2. Prohibited content

The following content is never permitted on Till Africa:

Counterfeit and fraudulent products

Products that infringe trademarks, replicas sold as genuine, or any listing intended to deceive customers about what they are purchasing.

False pricing or misleading descriptions

Prices that differ from what is actually charged, hidden fees, fake 'original' prices, or descriptions that misrepresent the product in any material way.

Stolen or reposted content without permission

Photos, videos, or text copied from another business or creator without their explicit written permission. Your TillVid content must be your own.

Adult or sexually explicit content

Content of any kind that is sexually explicit, pornographic, or inappropriate for a general business audience. Till Africa is a family-safe commerce platform.

Hate speech and discrimination

Content that attacks, demeans, or incites hatred against any person or group based on religion, ethnicity, gender, disability, or any other protected characteristic.

Political and religious campaigning

Till Africa is a neutral commerce platform. Content that promotes political parties, candidates, or religious agendas is not permitted.

Dangerous and illegal products or services

Weapons, controlled substances, illegal services, or anything whose sale is prohibited under Ugandan law or the law of the country of sale.

Violence, threats, and harassment

Content that threatens, harasses, or intimidates any person, or that glorifies or incites violence.

3. TillVid-specific rules

In addition to the general prohibited content rules above, TillVid posts must meet these requirements:

Show a real product or service

TillVid posts must feature an actual product or service your business offers at the stated price. Generic stock imagery used to promote something entirely different is prohibited.

Accurate pricing

The price shown in your TillVid post must match the actual price charged. Bait-and-switch pricing — advertising one price and charging another — is grounds for immediate suspension.

Vertical format only

TillVid posts must be uploaded in vertical (9:16) or square format. Horizontal videos are not supported in the feed.

Watermarking is automatic and cannot be removed

All TillVid content is watermarked with your till.africa business URL before storage. This is non-negotiable — it protects you and the platform. Attempting to upload content stripped of watermarks from other posts is treated as theft.

Compression and quality

Videos are compressed server-side before storage. Upload the highest quality you have — our target is under 15MB per minute of video at delivery. Maximum upload: 100MB per file.

4. Business profile rules

One account per business

Each registered business may have one Till account. Creating multiple accounts for the same business is prohibited.

Accurate business information

Business name, address, phone number, and hours must reflect your actual business. Fake locations or contact details result in immediate suspension.

TillVerify requires real documentation

To earn the TillVerify badge, businesses must provide valid registration documents or a Uganda Revenue Authority TIN. Submitting fraudulent documents is a criminal matter.

5. Reporting and enforcement

Any user or visitor can report content they believe violates this policy using the flag button on any TillVid post or business profile.

We will respond within 48 hours and remove confirmed infringing content promptly.

7. Scope and updates

This policy applies across all Till Africa products and platforms. We reserve the right to remove any content that we determine, in our sole discretion, to be harmful to users, businesses, or the platform — even if it is not explicitly listed here.

Material changes to this policy will be communicated to business owners by email with 14 days notice. The current version is always at till.africa/moderation.
